Arunkumar Tamilselvan – Senior Wine Guru

Hailing from India, Arunkumar Tamilselvan is the Senior Wine Guru at the resort and his thirst for knowledge fuels his love for wine and wine making.

Having been raised in a tradition with no alcohol, Arun first encountered wine after he had completed a BA in Hotel Management whilst working as a bartender. This life changing opportunity led him to further studies and travel in wine making countries, and now he is the only certified Sommelier in the Maldives with a WSET Advanced level certificate in Sake. He is currently pursuing a Diploma in WSET from Hong Kong and aims to become a Master of Wine by 2025.

Arun believes it’s important to listen to the guest’s needs and he offers a memorable experience, not just about the taste but telling the story of the wine for the guest’s pleasure.
